STATES AND EVENTS

Loading...
In the realm of practical life, we always discover contrasts that are astonishing. Wealthy people with magnificent residences and many friends sometimes suffer terribly... Humble proletarians with pickaxes and shovels, or people from the middle class, often live in complete happiness.
Many multi-millionaires suffer from sexual impotence, and wealthy matrons bitterly lament their husband's infidelity... The rich of the earth seem like vultures in golden cages; these days, they cannot live without "bodyguards"... Statesmen drag chains; they are never free, walking everywhere surrounded by people armed to the teeth...
Let's study this situation more closely. We need to know what life is. Everyone is free to have their own opinion... Whatever they say, certainly no one knows anything, life is a problem that no one understands... When people want to tell us the story of their life for free, they cite events, names and surnames, dates, etc., and they feel satisfaction when making their stories...
These poor people are unaware that their stories are incomplete because events, names, and dates are only the external aspect of the film, the internal aspect is missing... It is urgent to know "states of consciousness", each event corresponds to such or such an emotional state.
States are internal and events are external, external events are not everything... Understand by internal states, the good or bad dispositions, the worries, the depression, the superstition, the fear, the suspicion, the mercy, the self-consideration, the overestimation of oneself; states of feeling happy, states of joy, etc., etc., etc.
Undoubtedly, inner states can correspond exactly to external events or be caused by them, or have no relation to them at all...
In any case, states and events are different. Events do not always correspond exactly to related states.
  • The inner state of a pleasant event may not correspond to it.
  • The inner state of an unpleasant event may not correspond to it.
Long-awaited events, when they came, we felt something was missing. Certainly, the corresponding inner state that should have combined with the external event was missing...
Many times the unexpected event turns out to be the one that has provided us with the best moments.
THE INNER STATE.
Combining inner states with outer events correctly is knowing how to live intelligently. Any intelligently experienced event demands its corresponding specific inner state...
However, unfortunately, when people review their lives, they think that it is made up exclusively of external events...
They assume that luck came their way and that they missed the opportunity to be happy... They lament what was lost, cry over what they scorned, groan remembering old stumbles and calamities...
People don't want to realize that vegetating is not living and that the capacity to exist consciously depends exclusively on the quality of the Soul's inner states...
No matter how beautiful the external events of life may be, if we are not in the appropriate inner state at such moments, the best events may seem monotonous, tiresome, or simply boring...
Someone anxiously awaits the wedding party, it is an event, but it could happen that they are so worried at the precise moment of the event, that they really do not enjoy any delight in it and that everything becomes as arid and cold as a protocol...
Experience has taught us that not all people who attend a banquet or a dance truly enjoy themselves... There is always a bore at the best of celebrations, and the most delicious pieces cheer some and make others cry...
Very rare are the people who consciously know how to combine the external event with the appropriate internal state... It is unfortunate that people do not know how to live consciously: they cry when they should laugh and laugh when they should cry...
Control is different. The wise person can be happy but never full of crazy frenzy; sad but never desperate and dejected... serene in the midst of violence; abstemious in the orgy; chaste among lust, etc…
Melancholic and pessimistic people think the worst of life and frankly do not wish to live... Every day we see people who are not only unhappy, but also—and what is worse—make the lives of others bitter as well...
People like this would not change even if they lived daily from party to party; they carry the psychological illness within them... such people possess definitively perverse intimate states... However, these subjects describe themselves as just, holy, virtuous, noble, helpful, martyrs, etc., etc., etc...
They are people who think too much of themselves; people who love themselves very much... Individuals who pity themselves a lot and who always look for ways to avoid their own responsibilities...
People like this are accustomed to inferior emotions and it is obvious that for this reason they create subhuman psychic elements daily.
Unfortunate events, reversals of fortune, misery, debts, problems, etc., are the exclusive domain of those who do not know how to live... Anyone can develop a rich intellectual culture, but very few people have learned to live righteously...
When one wants to separate external events from the internal states of consciousness, one concretely demonstrates their inability to exist with dignity.
Those who learn to consciously combine external events and internal states march on the path to success...
MISTAKEN STATES.
Undoubtedly, in the rigorous observation of the Self, it is always imperative and unavoidable to make a complete logical differentiation in relation to the external events of practical life and the intimate states of consciousness.
We urgently need to know where we are situated at any given moment, both in relation to the intimate state of consciousness and in the specific nature of the external event that is happening to us.
Life itself is a series of events that are processed through time and space... Someone said: "Life is a chain of martyrdoms that man carries entangled in the Soul..."
Everyone is free to think as they wish; I believe that the ephemeral pleasures of a fleeting moment are always followed by disenchantment and bitterness... Each event has its own special characteristic flavor, and the inner states are also of a different kind; this is incontrovertible, irrefutable...
Certainly, the Inner Work on oneself refers emphatically to the various psychological states of consciousness... No one could deny that within us we carry many errors and that there are mistaken states...
If we truly want to change, we urgently and immediately need to radically modify those mistaken states of consciousness... The absolute modification of mistaken states leads to complete transformations in the realm of practical life...
When one works seriously on mistaken states, obviously the unpleasant events of life can no longer hurt them so easily... We are saying something that is only possible to understand by experiencing it, by really feeling it in the field of facts...
He who does not work on himself is always a victim of circumstances; he is like a miserable log in the stormy waters of the ocean...
Events change incessantly in their multiple combinations; they come one after another in waves, they are influences...
Certainly there are good and bad events; some events will be better or worse than others... Modifying certain events is possible; altering results, modifying situations, etc., is certainly within the realm of possibilities.
However, there are factual situations that really cannot be altered; in these last cases, they must be consciously accepted, even if some are very dangerous and even painful...
Undoubtedly, the pain disappears when we do not identify with the problem that has arisen... We must consider life as a successive series of internal states; an authentic history of our particular life is made up of all those states...
By reviewing the totality of our own existence, we can verify for ourselves directly that many unpleasant situations were made possible by incorrect inner states...
Alexander the Great, although always temperate by nature, gave himself over to excesses out of pride that led to his death...
Francis I died as a result of a dirty and abominable adultery, which history still remembers very well...
When Marat was assassinated by a perverse nun, he was dying of pride and envy, he believed himself to be absolutely just...
The ladies of the Parc aux Cerfs unquestionably completely ended the vitality of the appalling fornicator called LUIS XV…
Many people die from ambition, anger, or jealousy, as Psychologists know very well... As soon as our will is irrevocably confirmed in an absurd tendency, we become candidates for the pantheon or cemetery...
Othello became a murderer because of jealousy, and the prison is full of sincere wrongdoers...
PERSONAL EVENTS.
Full, intimate self-observation of the Self is essential when it comes to discovering mistaken psychological states. Undoubtedly, incorrect inner states can be corrected through correct procedures.
Since the inner life is the magnet that attracts external events, we urgently need to eliminate erroneous psychological states from our psyche.
Correcting mistaken psychological states is essential when you want to fundamentally alter the nature of certain undesirable events. Altering our relationship with certain events is possible if we eliminate certain absurd psychological states from within ourselves.
Destructive external situations could become harmless and even constructive through the intelligent correction of erroneous internal states. One can change the nature of unpleasant events that happen to us when one is intimately purified. Whoever never corrects absurd psychological states, believing himself to be very strong, becomes a victim of circumstances.
Bringing order to our messy inner house is vital when you want to change the course of an unhappy existence.
People complain about everything, suffer, cry, protest, would like to change their lives, get out of the misfortune they are in, unfortunately they do not work on themselves. People do not want to realize that inner life attracts external circumstances and that if these are painful it is due to absurd inner states.
The exterior is only a reflection of the interior; whoever changes internally originates a new order of things. External events would never be as important as the way one reacts to them.
Did you remain calm in the face of the insulter?
Did you receive the unpleasant manifestations of your fellow human beings with pleasure?
How did you react to the infidelity of your loved one?
Did you let yourself be carried away by the poison of jealousy?
Did you kill?
Are you in jail?
Hospitals, cemeteries or pantheons, prisons, are full of sincere people who were wrong and reacted absurdly to external events.

The best weapon a man can use in life is a correct psychological state.
One can disarm beasts and unmask traitors through appropriate inner states. The wrong inner states turn us into defenseless victims of human perversity. Learn to face the most unpleasant events of practical life with an appropriate inner attitude...

Do not identify with any event; remember that everything passes; learn to see life as a movie and you will receive the benefits...

Do not forget that events of no value could lead you to misfortune if you do not eliminate the wrong inner states from your Psyche. Each external event unquestionably needs the appropriate ticket; that is, the precise Psychological state.
