Conference A45
What we must do for practices to yield positive results

We are going to examine this topic because everything we do here is practical in nature. The fundamental thing is to learn how to obtain positive results from the practices.
In the practices of astral projection, for example, most people are failing. Only occasionally is it observed that students are successfully carrying out the practices. This is so that we can clearly understand the different elements that can lead us to failure when one tries to do any practice.
All practices undoubtedly yield positive results. The important thing is that one performs the practice in the required state of mind.
FIRST ASPECT OF FAILURE: LACK OF CONCENTRATION
We are concentrated when Consciousness is centered on the action. If our Consciousness is our particular God, it never fails.
If a person centers their Consciousness on what they are doing, if they are not distracted, they effectively have power. And Concentration is the greatest power one can aspire to. We believe we are concentrating because we develop certain seemingly sensible and orderly tasks, but we are not truly concentrated.
If one wishes to start developing Concentration, they must begin by performing a very simple task: observe what they do during the day. Thing by thing, it helps to write it down, to be aware. The day we manage to do that thing with concentration will be a success.
So: the first task of the day, the second, the third, the fourth, the fifth, the sixth, the seventh, etc., etc., and all of them, one after another. We must succeed in doing them consciously, to become aware of each of the flaws that intervene in each task of the day.
One must fight every day from the moment they wake up to be concentrated, to live in the instant, not to be distracted, not to allow Consciousness to disperse. Consciousness means: CON, which is 'more,' and CIENCIA, which is 'Wisdom.'
Points to consider:
  • Making an effort to do one thing at a time.
  • Without thinking about anything else.
  • Without interrupting one thing to do another.
  • Not thinking about things that will be done later.
  • Not remembering things that have already been done.
  • Staying focused on what we are doing.
SECOND ASPECT OF FAILURE: LACK OF FAITH
What is not having faith?: Doubting, and doubt always leads one to failure. What is having faith?: Knowing, having certainty.
It is different to know than to believe. One can believe that they can do many things. For example, I can believe that I can fly, but if I haven't flown, I surely won't fly. There lies the difference.
To have faith, one needs to overcome something called doubt. What makes us doubt? Constantly using mechanical imagination. When one no longer doubts, one doesn't let the Devil convince them. When one overcomes doubt, immediately wisdom arises, faith in what one is doing. And then one never doubts again.
A person who has not consciously astral projected doubts astral projection. But a person who has already consciously astral projected, investigated, verified, researched, has nothing to doubt. They simply apply it and get their results. A person who does, knows. And if they know, they no longer doubt. They already have faith in what they do, they have overcome ignorance, they have overcome doubt, and they have achieved faith.
THIRD ASPECT OF FAILURE: FEAR
Fear renders all people impotent and incapable. When a person is afraid, they do not act. This is the force contrary to Love, which is found in Works. Let's look at specific examples:
Imagine that from a distant building we are going to place a taut steel band to here, fifteen centimeters high. We are going to add handrails and a mat to make it very secure. From there, fifteen centimeters above the floor, on that well-taut steel band, each of you will advance, holding onto the handrails, walking on the carpet.
Does anyone imagine they can't? Can everyone? Is there anyone who thinks they can't? We are going to do the same task, but at one hundred meters high. We are going to put the same tempered band, with its mat and everything. Then we say to each one: "go ahead".
Will you pass? And so, you will realize that no one will pass. Why? Because immediately imagination instills fear in us. And if our fear is not resolved, as long as imagination does not resolve it, the will does not work.
As long as you do not resolve your fears, you will not be able to unfold, you will not be able to meditate, because your will, which is what leads you to action, will not work for you.
FOURTH ASPECT OF FAILURE: THE GOAL
Undoubtedly, if you have read about the secret to success, you will know that when one has a goal, one never fails. But when one has no goal, one is a person without a defined direction.
Experts teach that out of 10,000 ships that leave port with a specific objective, 10,000 succeed, that is, they always arrive where they are going. But imagine a ship loaded with all the crew, provisions, and everything. They tell the captain: "Shall we set sail?". "Yes, let's set sail." And they ask: "Where to?". "I don't know. I don't know yet."
So what happens? The crew begins: "Let's go to Paris," "no, better let's go to Germany." Another will say: "no, better let's go to New York," and so on. Then, the entire crew starts fighting and no one does anything. Why? Because there is no objective.
We must always have an objective: Go to the Tribunal, investigate how a certain business is doing, make a transfer of funds, speak with a certain Master, investigate a certain psychological aggregate, etc. To have a determined course.
Therefore, before starting the practice, we define: what is the objective we are going to fulfill as soon as we astral project? What is the purpose of going to seek a certain Master? I have to know what I am going to ask them, am I going to ask just anything? Or am I simply going to say trivial phrases to start a casual conversation, as everyone does on the physical plane, with the sole purpose of exchanging personal news. Whenever there is an objective, it must be determined, fixed.
So, let's study a bit where we are failing in these four points: if Concentration is lacking, if we have Faith, if we find defects of Fear, let's ask the Divine Mother to eliminate them, and finally, let's set an Objective. With this, we should not fail.
The 4 rules every esotericism student must know:
  1. TO KNOW HOW TO YEARN: To desire is to yearn, "Desire is the source of all strength."
  1. TO KNOW HOW TO DARE: To start doing, to begin, to venture, to try.
  1. TO KNOW HOW TO DO: You start doing a task... the one who does is the Being.
  1. TO KNOW HOW TO BE SILENT: No one can speak of what they see in other dimensions.
