The word Concentration is showing us that Consciousness is Centered on Action. Concentration is a very great power that allows us to succeed in everything we undertake.
Concentration occurs when we learn to live in the moment, the eternal now, when our different functions work in unison, with our heart as the center.
The key to getting any practice done is Concentration. We must practice and fight until we achieve it. If we are concentrated during the day, we will continue to be concentrated at night. If we wander during the day, so will we at night.
There are two types of Concentration: one in the Inner World and the other in the Outer World. Both are very important. We are concentrated when we hold a single thought.
When we hold mindfulness on something, we can achieve Inspiration, and an instant later, Success. Concentration is the opposite of distraction.
Concentration is of the Consciousness, distraction is of the self. If we study distraction, we will end up in concentration. If we can discover all the selves or distracting elements, we will achieve Concentration.
Learning to center Consciousness in action requires a lot of practice, since the sense of psychological Self-observation is atrophied in almost all human beings, and it is through this sense that Consciousness is centered in action.
Master Jesus taught us that we should Watch and Pray. Watching is doing things awake, in vigilance, in self-observation, or concentrated.
Praying is the desire to Be or Remembrance of Self, and this is the same as relaxing, begging the Divine Mother to eliminate the defect that does not allow us to concentrate.
How we can practice Concentration:
Making an effort to do one thing at a time.
Without thinking about anything else.
Without interrupting one thing to do another.
Not thinking about things that are going to be done.
Not remembering things that have already been done.
Keeping ourselves focused on what we do.
If we carefully observe the multiple activities of our daily lives, we will realize that each one is done mechanically, since when we execute them we are thinking about other things. That same fact prevents us from being centered, it also prevents us from seeing all the selves that manifest themselves.
We wake up, sit up, walk to the bathroom, undress, shave, shower, dry off, dress, put on shoes, make the bed, have breakfast, brush our teeth, say goodbye, go out into the street, etc.
But we do not self-observe from moment to moment, which means that we have a sleeping conscience due to lack of use. We do things asleep. And because of the above, there is no self-discovery.
If we begin to self-observe, we will discover each of the selves that participate in each action, that act mechanically committing errors, tense us, originate worries, distract, prevent concentration.
When we begin to observe all this, we realize directly the chaos in which we find ourselves. And that we can only order it through permanent relaxation.
Relaxation
What is Relaxation?
When we become aware of any defect that is producing tension in any part of the machine, we must necessarily relax so as not to waste energy unnecessarily. And this is done with a Supplication to our Divine Mother, like this: "My Mother, kill this ego for me." It is necessary to understand why we are tense so that the Mother can act.
What Causes Tension?
Desires
Emotions
Psychological Songs
Wrong Psychological States
Thoughts
Worries
Internal Chatter
Fights Between Different Selves
If we beseech our particular Divine Mother at this moment to eliminate the defect that is producing tension in such and such a center, we will notice that She acts immediately, relaxing the place where we have observed the ego.
Tension arises for many reasons:
We do something we don't like.
We are afraid that something will turn out badly for us.
We want to do something we like more.
We are worried about what we are going to do later.
What we did before didn't turn out well.
What we did before turned out very well for us.
We don't know how to do what we're doing.
We are worried about something we will have to do.
We are distracted by something.
How do we know when we are relaxed?
It happens when all tension has disappeared and our psychology has normalized. We feel good. We can focus on what we do.
